I needed a riser table to gain some extra space on a maker faire. Decided to make it stackable with the Eurobox standard and add power distribution, too.
BOM (approximate)
- 4x 2020 extrusion 600mm (long sides)
- 6-8x 2020 extrusion 360mm (short sides and middle reinforcement ribs)
- 4x 2020 extrusion 300mm (legs)
- about 56x T-slot nuts for the above extrusions
- M5x8(?) screws for all T-slot nuts
- M5 screws and nuts for strain relief and mounting the power distributer box
- 2x rackmount 19" power strip, I chose Brennenstuhl 1390007009
- optional rackmount 10" power strip, I chose Brennenstuhl 1390007004
- 4x M6 nuts per power strip
- 4x M6 screws per power strip
- optional 4x M6 washers per power strip
- 1x power distributer box for nice cable management
- 3x wago 221 by 5 lever clamps or other suitable means of connecting AC wires
- 2 part silicone to mold the feet
- 40x60 eurobox lid (the one from Hornbach Hardware Store fits inside the 2020 extrusions, your milage may vary with other brands, it's a tight fit, but you can always adjust with a box cutter)
Assembly
Refer to the pictures. Should be pretty self explanatory if you ever worked with those 2020 extrusions. The feet get capped with the footmold, then silicone poured in until the internal features (not the entire foot, the 2020 extrusion still has to go in there!) are flush, and after solidifying, remove the mold. Alternatively, print the feet in soft TPU. Or stick something non-slip under it.
Disclaimer
To build this, you will either have to route the separate power cords out of the thing, or cut and reconnect the wires. Don't do that if you aren't trained or otherwise allowed to do so in your place. Mains power is dangerous. Wrong connections can be fatal. If you're unsure, skip the connection box, leave all cables attached and just connect each power strip to its separate wall socket.
