I crack slabs every once in a while to add the card to my binder. It was supposed to be a joke but it worked.
Insert your slab and bend the two halves to shear the top open. You should probably wear gloves or use a bench vise to secure one half to help protect your hands. Can't overlook sharp plastic with how much force you're applying.
After the slab is cracked just pry the slab like normal.
