When 3D printing, especially when small spools of filament are used, issues can arise with the disorganised release or falling off of filament from the spool, caused by the high accelerations of the printer. This phenomenon is often a result of sudden changes in direction of the print head or bed movement during printing, leading to the rapid rotation of the spool and unorganised filament unwinding. This frequently causes the filament to tangle or jam, ultimately resulting in print failure.
I decided to solve this problem by gently braking the spool using simple clips and anchoring it in one place. Furthermore, my solution is characterised by very easy installation and removal from the spool holder.
To ensure optimal function, please maintain the correct position of the brake relative to the spool, so that it only makes contact with it over an limited area, as shown in the image.
