Today I designed a keyboard gasket — a flexible insert meant to be attached to the top plate and then sandwiched between the top and bottom case of a custom mechanical keyboard. This gasket is specifically made for a Tiger80 clone build I'm currently working on 🐅⌨. The full keyboard project will be released in the future, together with all compatible parts.
The gasket helps improve the internal fit, reduce vibrations, and give the board a more consistent, dampened sound profile. It’s intentionally simple and flexible, and the print settings are key: this part should be printed in TPU, with a low wall count and very low infill, ensuring maximum compressibility and proper gasket behavior.
Another detail-oriented addition to my Everydays Challenge, exploring the precision and tuning side of custom mechanical keyboards.
