Tired of your BoxTurtle filaments sitting out in the open? I designed this simple adapter to give mine a proper home inside a Sterilite tote. It's a cheap, easy upgrade that keeps humidity away from your spools.
What It Is
This is an adapter that lets you use a Sterilite 30Qt Ultra Latch box as a dry-box lid for your BoxTurtle. No more leaving your PLA or PETG out to suck up moisture. Just set the tote on top , toss in some desiccant packs, and your filaments stay dry right at the printer.
Why I Made It
The BoxTurtle is awesome, but it doesn't come with an enclosure. I wanted a clean cheap alternative to the enclosure. This Sterilite tote is perfect... it's cheap, and easy to find. This adapter makes it sit perfectly on top of the BoxTurtle frame with no extra hardware.
What You'll Need
A complete BoxTurtle.
One Sterilite 30Qt Ultra Latch box (28L).
About 300g of filament to print the adapter. PETG/PLA/or whatever you like.
A little glue to secure the pins in place.
How It Works
You print this adapter, place it on top of your assembled BoxTurtle's aluminum extrusions, and then set the Sterilite tote right on top. That's it. No bolts, no screws. The tote simply sits on the adapter, which holds it securely in place over your filaments. Take care to not lock the tote down, otherwise you will need to remove the entire assembly to remove. I may update a future version with a "finger" slot to make this easier. Leave comments and feedback with any issues.
Grab the tote, print the adapter, and give your BoxTurtle the simple, dry home it deserves.
