Motivation
I purchased a Thermoworks RFX Wireless Probe Starter Kit and wanted a dock to efficiently store and transport the probes in their charging blocks between the kitchen and my grill.
Solution
Design a custom Gridficiency-based dock that achieves the following objectives:
Fully parametric providing customization of all dimensions
Gridficiency (and Gridfinity) compatibility
(optional) Slots for magnets to help keep the charging blocks attached
Design
I included the following versions:
Gridficiency_10 docks (10.0 mm grid squares with no stacking lip resulting in a footprint of 150 cm²)
Full grid (this is what I printed because I wanted the extra weight…106 g)
Checkerboard grid (93 g)
Gridfinity spec dock (137 g and 211 cm²)
Here are top and bottom comparisons of each dock's footprint

Customization
The Fusion files are included. They are customized versions of my GridficiencyGridfinity template so you can choose any GridSquareSize. You can further customize the parameters (DESIGN | SOLID | MODIFY | Change Parameters) as necessary. When you open the Parameters dialog, first sort by name. The parameters most optimized for customization are favorited. Reference this section of the template for further guidance.
If you cannot get Fusion to work for you, please send me a message (see below) and I will post your requested model files at my earliest convenience.
Materials
I printed in PETG
(4) 8x3 neodymium magnets – I used these from Amazon.com
Of course, if you customize the size of the magnet slots, you will need those magnets instead
Printing
See the attached .3mf for my settings and model orientation. I printed with Prusament PETG Anthracite Grey which happens to closely match the color of the charging blocks.
If you plan to embed magnets during the print, ensure you have the following ready to go before starting the print:
Magnets
Pause(s) inserted at each layer immediately after an embedded magnet slot (the same layer that bridges to close the slot).
Additional Notes:
The model is optimized for 0.45 mm layer lines and 0.20 mm layer height.
I printed with four perimeters
If the bins are printed with suppressed grid geometry, ensure your bridging parameters are optimally configured
I prototyped on a Prusa CORE One.
