This is a modified version of a protective bumper for the Suunto Vertical 2. While I loved the original design I found on MakerWorld, I noticed that the small clips holding the bumper to the watch were a bit fragile and tended to break after 1-2 uses.
Improvements
Reinforced Clips: I modified the mounting mechanism to be thicker and more robust.
Increased Durability: The bumper now stays securely on the watch even during active use without snapping off.
Print Settings & Recommendations
To get the best results and ensure the clips don't snap, please follow these guidelines:
Material: PETG is highly recommended. It offers the necessary flexibility to "click" onto the watch while being durable enough for outdoor use. (PLA is too brittle for this design).
Layer Adhesion: This is the most important factor. Make sure to print at a slightly higher temperature or lower fan speed to ensure the layers bond perfectly. This prevents the clips from shearing off along the layer lines.
Infill: 100% (it's a small part, so solid is best).
Supports: Depending on your printer's bridging capabilities, minimal supports might be needed for the clip areas.
