Torreva enclosure for Flashforge AD5X

I don't charge for my functional models. Not even this one, which is the result of several weeks (if not months) of design effort, and hundreds of dollars in filament testing and revising it. Torreva is an enclosure for the Flashforge AD5X, designed from scratch rather than based off the official enclosure.

Torreva is significantly more effort to produce than the official enclosure, but the resulting enclosure has considerably better performance in terms of heat retention and noise reduction - and in my opinion, looks nicer too.

PLEASE READ THE DOCUMENTATION BEFORE YOU START YOUR BUILD! It can be found right at the bottom of the Files tab, under the "Other Files" heading.

Torreva is constructed from a combination of PETG printed parts, and EVA foam panels. All printed parts can be printed on the Flashforge AD5X; a 0.6mm nozzle and a smooth PEI or Pro Glacier build plate is recommended.

Features:
- Assembled dimensions: 392x392x704mm main body; 490x460x720mm (approx) including protrusions like spool holders, door hinges, lid handle, etc (but not including spools)
- Very good heat retention (capable of reaching over 50°c in under an hour heated solely by the bed at 100°c)
- Option for right- or left-mounted IFS
- Easily removable front door, with two different options (EVA or acrylic)
- Hinged lid with latches
- IFS tube cover (don't like it? There's an alternative option available)
- Carbon filtration unit for ABS / ASA / etc fumes (though I recommend using a proper recirculation mod instead if you are able to do so)
- Attempted accomodations for the Flashforge camera; how well they will work depends exactly how long your cable is (it's very tight)
- Customization-ready nameplate
- And if you have (or can get) the right model of food dehydrator, there's a mod to use it as a chamber heater that's designed for use with a Torreva enclosure

Torreva is licenced under the Open Community Licence. This means you cannot sell it, but you are welcome to produce it for your own use, including your own internal commercial use, free of charge. I am not considering commercial licencing and/or accepting donations at this point in time, but may think about these things once it's out of beta. (V0.41) 2026-07-22 04:00 - Added alternate versions of FL-0, FL-1, BL-0 and BL-1 to suit newer AD5X units that lack threaded M3 holes on the left side and upper-left front. No change to existing pieces. Also updated licence to OCLv1 + GA.

2026-06-24 21:45 - (No new version number) Documentation update only.

(V0.40) 2026-03-01 13:00 - Made adjustments to almost all lower-half pieces to support a left-mounted IFS (lower half is now "IFS-ambidextrous"). Added variants of all upper-half pieces to support a left-mounted IFS. Added internal screw holes (similar to the ones for the filter fan unit) on all internal top-half edges. Cutouts for cables / externally-attached accessories are now optional, and provided as seperate STL files intended to be used as negative parts (and a few new options for them have been added). Changed seperation distance of filter unit screw holes so that it can be removed without disassembly. Added cable management clips. Door hinges modified so that one hinge's pin is longer than the other, and the pins are easier to insert.

(V0.31) 2026-01-27 09:45 - Completely overhauled the documentation; most of it is rewritten from scratch. New documentation has some differences in recommended screw sizes. No changes to any printed parts.

(V0.30) 2026-01-20 12:45 - Changed magnets in FR-0, FR-1, D-xx-TR and D-xx-BR to 8x2mm instead of 5x2mm; slightly reduced length of screen clip protrusion in FR-1; added some extra screw holes (intended for a USB hub mount or similar) to FR-2 and moved the pass-through hole for the fan cables to the side; slightly enlarged all screw thread / hex nut holes that print facing upwards or downwards to make them less difficult.

(V0.21) 2026-01-17 12:00 - Fixed incorrect labels on BR-2 and BR-3.

(V0.20) 2026-01-14 13:45 - Reduced the height of the top-tier pieces (FL-3, FR-3, etc), and modified IFS-Cover accordingly. Modified BR-1 and BR-2 so that the print head cable no longer needs to be disconnected to install or remove these pieces. Added identifying labels to most pieces.

(V0.13) 2026-01-13 12:00 - Added a variant of the nameplate (now the one included by default in the 3MF file) with the text "AD5X". Documentation tweaks; some tweaks to nameplate filenames.

(V0.12) 2026-01-13 06:00 - Modified the lid latch pieces (L-Latch-Pin and L-Latch-Cover) to look nicer and extend out a bit further. Also made some slight changes to the documentation.

(V0.11) 2026-01-12 09:30 - Updated documentation to add a photo of my Torreva build on the front page. No other changes.
