AA Battery holder w/ indicators

Hardware:

• 4x M3 self-tapping screws, probably in silver or white if you want to print in white. Hypothetically up to 16mm in length should fit, 8 will be plenty.

Printing:

• Face plate with the screw insets heading up, use supports. Iron the surface. This will give you a nice finish and make sure the chamfers don't go weird.

• Print slider (you will need two pieces) in two colors separated where the knob starts and base stops. 1.88mm/layer 9 in my case. Use a highlight color for the base. Use an AMS or simply pause and swap out filament manually. See screenshot if confused.

Notes:

• The slider is quite loose, I don't have an ams and didn't feel like going through the fillament change process again so i left it like this. Source is included so you can open the freecad document and edit Pad003 in the Slider body to make it more snug or edit Sketch007 in Pad004 to englare the knob a little bit, i'd imagine adjusting Pad003 will be more durable.

  • Another option could be a couple dabs of superglue on the back of the sliders but I can't imagine that lasting very long.
