Background:
This is a Gridfinity baseplate that fits into the standard depth and deep toolboxes made by Craftsman (Versastack Model No. CMST17830 & Model No. CMST17825) and DeWalt (TSTAK Model No. DWST17807 & Model No. DWST17806).
The Gridfinity baseplate is 8 x 6 and also has extra storage areas in the surrounding area outside of the grid for holding additional items.
I designed this model to be printed in quarters and be fastened together with connector plates in the unused sections of the grid on the outside of the container. The connector plates are connected using M5x0.8 heat inserts that are 6mm tall and 8mm or 10mm M5x0.8 bolts. Each of the baseplate quarters requires two heat inserts. Alternatively, you may use 12mm 0r 14mm M5 bolts with a nut, by first taping the nuts in place under the baseplate, so that they are lined up with the bolt when installed from above. This method is much more difficult to do, but is an option if you do not have heat inserts available.
I printed these at 0.2mm layer height with a Elegoo Centauri Carbon, using 3 layers for the walls, top, and bottom layers. Infill was 15% Gyroid. All model were printed without supports enabled, but I used automatic mouse ear brims to secure parts to the print bed while printing.
Assembly Instructions:
Print one each of the baseplates and connector pieces.
Using (Qty 8) M5 x 6mm threaded heat inserts with a soldering iron, install two inserts into each of the baseplates in the provided holes.
Alternatively, if you do not have heat inserts, carefully tape M5 nuts in place on the bottom side of the baseplate, lined up with the holes.
Install the bottom baseplates first, as they must fit around a tighter space in the corner, which will require some minor flexing, but they should fit.
Next, install the remaining two baseplates on the top side.
Use the connector plates, along with (Qty 8) 8mm or 10mm M5x0.8 bolts, to secure the baseplates together.
Assembly is finished! :D
