Nozzle wiper for the Prusa CoreOne with both an A1 mini brush and a brass brush for the more stubborn gunk.

The brass brush is in a plugin that will pop off if the bed gets too close to the bottom of the printer. This means you can still use the full Z height, you'll just have to lift the bed and plug the brush back in after your print finishes. -or if loading and unloading an uncooperative filament lowers the bed until it bottoms out, which is what my CoreOne does. A little annoying, but it is what it is.

Printing

  • Print with supports - painted on where it was necessary, IIRC

  • N.B. use a heat resistant material, I think I used ASA-CF

  • Select plugin depending on which width brass brush you want to use

Hardware

  • M3x8 or M3x10

  • M3x5x4 heat set inserts

  • Brass brushes for rotary tools, I got mine off Amazon

Gcode

N.B. Don't just blindly copy my gcode! This gcode moves the print head outside the bed area, which is a hack that pretty much all nozzle wipers use. The gcode below works for me, but you yourself are the only one to blame if you break something by not inspecting and carefully testing anything you get off the internet.

Print your own copy, install it, then carefully test, using the manual controls on the printer, if the positions work for you. Then adjust the gcode if necessary before using it in your printer profile.

The following is my gcode for the 15mm-brass-brush plugin:

In the Start gcode, before the MBL section, between

M84 E ; turn off E motor

and

G29 P9 X208 Y-2.5 W32 H4

insert this after testing manually:

; wipe nozzle on A1mini "A" and brass "B" brushes
G0 X210 Y-17 Z0.5 F20000 ; -: R F
G0 X151 Y-12 Z0.5 F20000 ; AB: L B

G0 X165 Y-17 Z0.5 F20000 ; B: R

G0 X151 Y-13 Z0.5 F20000 ; B: L
G0 X151 Y-17 Z0.5 F20000 ; B: F

G0 X210 Y-15 Z0.5 F20000 ; -: M
G0 X175 Y-12 Z0.5 F20000 ; A: L B

Take care :)
