This enclosure was designed to hold a toroidal balun or transformer for matching to a transmitting antenna. It was designed around the 61mm cores. There are two versions - one with SO-239 connectors on each end, and one with an SO-239 and terminal bolts at the other to attache to a dipole. It also has a hanger, as I'm sure that the bolts won't take the stress of the dipole, so it should be mounted below the center insulator.
The lid is attached with 1/2" #6 stainless flat head screws.
The transformer shown is a 1:1 'Guanella' current balun described by VK6YSF. I plan to use it in the transmission line to change from coax to ladder line.
