Idea

This set of small gifts might be just the thing for a neat, homemade “I love you” Valentine’s Day present, or a nice addition to an existing gift. I designed them as a set so everything matches perfectly in size, but you can easily scale the models up to suit your needs.

Take a look in the collection for other models of the set.

Candle Mold

Make your very own heart shaped candles. Easy to use - no tools needed. The dimensions are chosen to fit into standard tealights. You can reuse the metal part of old tealights to have some sort of enclosure for your candle.

Assembly and Usage

Assembly is very easy. The two parts fit together without any post-processing, screws, or other hardware. The pegs are chamfered so they slide in smoothly and then lock into a snug fit. If you like, you can add an elastic band through the middle of the model for extra clamping stength—the groove is there to keep the band from slipping.

After that, you can bend a paper clip to fit into the notches on the top piece. It can be used to tie the candle wick to, keeping it centered so it doesn’t shift or sink into the melted wax.

Melt the wax and pour it into the mold, filling it up to the inner rim. The outer rim acts as a small funnel to make pouring easier. Let it sit until the wax has fully solidified, then pry the mold open. A groove runs around the middle of the mold—use it to insert a spatula, screwdriver, or knife blade for leverage. You can place the finished candle into the metal casing of a standard tealight.
