This napkin holder uses two magnets repelling each other to push one side of the holder toward the other side. This keeps the napkins held in place.
Hardware:
2 neodymium magnets. 3mm x 10mm x 60mm
1 steel rod. 3mm diameter x 150mm long
When slicing, insert pause at the top of each of the magnets. The magnet in the "flapper" will lay flat. The magnet in the base will be "on edge." Pauses included in 3mf PROJECT files.
Print:
0.2 layer height
15% infill is enough
No supports
Pause to insert magnets (see above)
This will print on a Mini+
Here is how to make sure the magnets will repel each other when assembled:
Hold the two magnets together. Mark a small "X" on one with permanent marker.
Let's call the side with the "X" the top.
Carefully slide the marked magnet off the top.
Mark the second magnet with an "X" again on the top.
When you insert the magnets, place the one in the "flapper" with the "X" facing UP.
Insert the magnet in the base with the "X" facing the CENTER of the base.
Assemble the two pieces and gently tap the steel rod through the hinge hole.
