System 573 Security Cartridge Shells

These files allow you to create either replacement shells for your existing (and presumably damaged...) security cartridges, or allow you to make new cartridges such as if you were going to create a new game.

Assembly

  1. Push the "nub" part through the relevant opening in the top shell.

  2. Use some glue (CA/Superglue, contact adhesive, epoxy) to secure the nub in place.

  3. Place your security cart PCB in the bottom half of the case.

  4. Line up the top tabs of the top half of the case with the holes in the bottom half of the case and hinge the case closed.

  5. Use som 2.5mm x 5mm self-tapping screws to secure the two halves together.

  6. If you are using a label, make sure to use the Square label for original cartridges and the T-Cart label for T-Carts.

  7. Optionally, if you want to stick on the ID label supplied in the pack, it's recommended to put this along the top of the cartridge.

Material Notes

The models are designed so that the nub and the top case are printed flat on the base. The rear case is (somewhat) designed to print on the top edge of the case. Supports are required for the back half, I recommend using tree supports.

Artwork

I have included PSD files for creating blank cartridge labels mainly for the creation of new game labels. By new game, I mean a home brew or newly developed game. Using these files to create replicas of existing labels is allowed but they must not be used solely for the purpose of piracy or bootlegging of desirable games.

Remixing

You are allowed to remix! Please make sure to attribute your remix properly. You may only remix under the same non-commercial license, but otherwise feel free to adapt how you see fit!

License / Usage

This project is provided strictly for personal, non-commercial use. It is intended only for individuals who wish to create cases for their own private collections.

You may not sell, distribute, license, or otherwise commercialise this design or any derivative of it. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Selling printed cases (blank or assembled)

  • Selling cases bundled with/without artwork

  • Selling artwork alone

  • Selling modified or remixed versions of the design

The only permitted scenarios involving resale is when an individual sells their own original game from their personal collection on the second-hand market, and the security cart case is included purely as a required part of that item. The case and/or label itself must not be treated as a separate product or value-added commercial item.

A second permitted scenario applies when an end user does not have the ability to print the case or label themselves. In this situation, the user may provide these files to a third-party printing service solely to obtain prints for their own personal collection. The printing service may charge only for material usage and machine time. They are not permitted to sell the case and/or label as a product, advertise it, or treat it as a commercial item. Permission is not given for the service provider to produce more cases after the user has received their order.

Printing cases or labels for friends or distributing cases and/or labels free of charge is also permitted, provided all prior conditions are met and no commercial activity or compensation is involved.

Any form of mass production, commissioned sales, or marketplace listing of the case or related artwork from this model page is explicitly prohibited.
