FreeCad Parametric Thrust Bearing.
The 3MF Models create a thrust bearing of 104 diameter, using 40 X 5mm bearings.
The FreeCad source file has a spreadsheet in it that has all the necessary dimensions to change for the thrust bearing you need. It doesn't seal, or have any way of locking closed, it was outside of what I needed for it (it's to hold a filament spool on top inside a sealed tub so the weight keeps it from moving outside of the constraints).
Ironically this was for a new filament tub to keep the filament from getting damp from the air but in the time I spent getting the model right the spool was already starting to string.. so if your bearing cage is a nightmare of strings:
Strongly advise enabling "Avoid crossing perimeters" in your slicer to keep the bearing holes in the cages as cleanly printed as possible.
You'll need to print two cases for the top and bottom and one cage to hold the bearing balls.
I needed to manipulate the balls in the cage a LOT to get them to freely move, but as they start to rotate in the cages, their action smooths the internal face of it and they will start to act as they should.
In the spreadsheet there is a bearing_count variable, this sets how many bearings will be in the cage rather than auto computing a fit. Frankly I did this because it was easier than auto computing, so if you're making a large bearing then just increase the race_dia to the required diameter (it's measured from the center of the bearing race, not the inner or outer diameter of the race container), set your bearing_dia to the bearing balls you are using, then change the bearing_count to an amount that spaces them without too big or small of a gap.
