I often rest my phone on my thigh and got tired of it sliding off. This solution places a MagSafe-compatible mount inside your pants to help keep your phone securely in place.
Parts required:
4 M2.5x6 hex head screws
4 M2.5 Washers
4 M2.5 Nuts
Magsafe ring (This is the one I used)
To assemble, first print the part using TPU. Place the mount inside your pants in the desired position. I recommend placing it between the pocket and your thigh to help minimize rubbing from the nuts.
Use the mount as a guide to mark the hole locations on your pants with a marker. Then carefully create the holes using an appropriate tool. When making the holes, be careful not to cut into your pocket unless that’s where you want the mount installed.
Insert the magnets into the printed part, making sure to test which side sticks best to your phone and place that side facing up. After creating the holes, align the mount on the inside of your pants, insert the bolts with washers through the holes, and secure everything by tightening the nuts.
I know most people may not like the look of screws protruding from their pants, so I’m currently looking for a better solution, such as using adhesives or another type of mounting method.
