Presenting Gradient Chef Easter Eggs

Here are a few multicolor 3D printed gradient patterns I designed and applied to Easter egg models I made in Autodesk Fusion. The gradients in these 3MF files are designed in a tool l've built called Gradient Chef. Drop in a 3MF, set your gradient, download a printable 3MF in seconds. No uploads required, your model never leaves your computer. You can open, slice, and print Gradient Chef's 3MF files with your slicer and multicolor capable 3D printer.  Egg models available here are provided for PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, and Bambu Studio as separate 3MF files because each app can treat the 3MF format differently. Please download 3MF files labeled with the slicer of your choice in the filename. Load into your slicer where you can adjust printer profiles, nozzle size, colors, or number or colors to your liking, slice, and print. Every Gradient is a Unique Recipe

Gradient Chef produces stunning gradient and stripe effects on 3D printed objects. Handy presets and a personal recipe box make it easy to set up, adjust, and save gradients with up to 64 color stops. Gradient and 3D previews load in full color based on the number of extruders and colors you have defined in 3MF files made with PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, or Bambu Studio.

You are in control, this is not color changing filament where making multiple consistent 3d printed gradient pieces is difficult.  Gradient Chef serves up a repeatable process, and it makes more than gradients - stripe preset modes are also adjustable. Candy stripe mode makes adding repeating stripes with consistent sizes easy and fun.

Gradient Chef's Origin Story

I've had a dream since 2022: to use my Prusa XL's tool changing ability to produce vertical gradient effects by swapping tools to match a linear gradient pattern. In that time I've seen one or two people pull this off using grasshopper and other tools, but I wanted something everyone could use. I am proud to share the results of my efforts so far to achieve that dream with you here.
