Even with the updated Elegoo Centauri secondary LED or additional top-mounted LED strips, the area between the build plate and the nozzle often remains in shadow due to the bulk of the toolhead.
To solve this, I designed a custom mount for a mini-spotlight (sourced from Amazon/AliExpress - search for mini spotlight). The stand attaches directly to the bed carriage, allowing the light to move with the model and provide consistent illumination exactly where it's needed most.
Assembly & Print Settings
Supports: I recommend using Normal (Snug) supports for the best results.
Mounting to Frame: The model utilizes the two existing M3 screws that secure the right bed support to the Centauri frame.
Spotlight Attachment: Use two spare M3 screws (from the Centauri spare parts bag) to secure the light to the mount.
Threading: The two mounting holes for the spotlight are pre-threaded in the 3D model. While the threads are fine and may be hard to see, you can drive the M3 screws directly into the plastic for a secure fit.
Wiring: Since the spotlight I used is 220V, I wired it directly to the power source and integrated an external switch so it can be toggled independently of the printer.
