This kit, used in conjunction with the standard 60mm width profile tools, allows for profiling of silicone bead caulking in tight, space restricted areas; usually found in kitchens and bathrooms behind sink units, pipes and taps. The profiles cater for 5mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm straight 45 degree profile beads plus one 12mm curved profile.
Also included are two guides to allow for smooth transition over grout lines in tiles. These guides also help to maintain a consistent angle on the profile tool by ensuring that the tool will run parallel to the surface being silicone sealed; resulting in a consistent angle being achieved on the finished bead.
Application NOTE - applying a silicone bead, the applicator should be cut at 90 degrees to provide an open end slightly larger than the desired bead size. So, for a 10mm bead cutting a 10.5mm hole in the applicator tube is desirable. This ensures that the 10mm profiling tool will remove silicone along the entire length of the bead giving the desired finish without any low points.
The thin 15mm case provides neat and secure storage to the 5 profile tools and the two guides. Tools are placed head to toe in the case into the guide block provided.
Printing parameters were
Material - either PETG or PLA
Layer - 0.16mm
Case - Top printed stood upright with no support, 10mm brim. Bottom printed no support or brim on plate. Both parts 2 walls, 15% infill.
Profile Tools - Printed solid (100% infill), no support. Orientation as per the provided 3mf file
