Didn't test it with longer ones. But it should be stable enough to hold up to 12CM as the weight will be slanted to the back so it wont tip over.
15 degree angle added, so the boxes slide in and are secured.
Side barriers so box wont fall out when inserting, and keeping filament required minimal.
Base slightly bigger for stability and heft. Can fill in with ball bearings etc.
Base has a indent for a label, or 3D printed tag you can glue in.
At 100% infill its 118Gr filament needed or 40M.
at 20% infill its 84Gr filament needed or 28M
at 10% infill its 79Gr filament needed or 27M
20% is optimal
Print facing straight up as shown in the images (not as the file will load it in). This will require no supports. Ensure your retraction is setup correctly to mitigate blobs.
1mm play is added for boxes to slide in and out freely.
I personally add slits to the base for magnets to link up multiple of these.
There is 2 versions one with thinner sides and one with thicker that uses 10% more filament. If your X gantry is prone to "bend" with inertia the tool-head will slightly crash into it and snap the posts. Print out the thicker version then.
