Monolith Belt Path Pretensioner Tool

A dedicated pretensioning jig for attaching belts to the toolhead on Monolith-style belt paths. Achieving consistent, high pretension during belt attachment is notoriously tricky — this tool takes the frustration out of the process by giving you a solid base to hold the belts while attaching to toolhead.

How It Works:

Tension is dialed in via the M5 cap head screws: the longer the screws, the greater the pretension achievable. This makes the tool adaptable across a range of belt tensions without any design changes — just swap screw length to suit your target. 5x8x8 spacers are used to smoothly guide the m5 screws and increase durability. First start by attaching belts to one side of toolhead and use the pretensioner to assist with the opposite side.

Bill of Materials:

•4× M3×12 cap head screws

•2× M3 T-nuts

•2× M3 heatset inserts

•4× M3 washers

•2× M5x50 cap head screws (length determines max tension — choose accordingly)

•2× M5 nuts

•2× M5 washers

•2× 5x8x8 spacer (optional but recommended for smoother operation)

Print Settings

•Top/Bottom Layers: 5 minimum

•Walls: 6 minimum

•Infill: 25% minimum

•Supports: None required

Compatibility:

Designed for Monolith belt path geometry and should be able to work with most toolheads
