This badge was designed with a PCB-inspired aesthetic and optimized for FDM 3D printing. It was prototyped and tested using silk transparent PLA, which enhances the “circuit board” look by giving a subtle glossy and light-diffusing finish.
The model prints well on standard settings, but requires minimal supports, mainly for the lanyard holes and any overhanging PCB trace details. For best results, use a fine layer height to preserve the engraved features and ensure clean edges on the design.
Overall, it’s a quick and reliable print, with a good balance between visual detail and ease of manufacturing.
