This is part of my Open Sauce project! We'll be fighting tops at the stlDenise3D table.

Want to win a FREE CORE ONE+?? Then enter the online Printables version of this contest! WHHOOOOOO! (See contest page) Note: Online Printables Contest will follow their rules.

The sample top is 100% 3D printed, prints in three parts and are screw together -- no glue needed. When blades become damaged, simply replace.

IN PERSON OPEN SAUCE CONTEST DETAILS:

This is the Demo Top for our contest at Open Sauce, July 17–19 at the San Mateo County Event Center in California. Print your own top and come join the fun! You can print this top or mod it, just follow these rules:

There will be TWO CONTEST Types. Each will be held both days.

1) BATTLE: bring a top, fight other contestants at my booth.

2) LONGEST SPIN: bring a top, lets see how long it can spin!

IN PERSON Prizes will be goofball 3D printed tchotchkes and FILAMENT by Prusa, Polymaker and Fusion.

To enter the LIVE IN PERSON CONTEST print this top and launcher. You are also free to modify the top AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES:

  • Tops must be FULLY 3D PRINTED using PLASTIC (no metal)

  • Launch Cord may be no longer than 273mm end to end.

  • Blade must be 25 mm from ground

  • Blade must be no larger than 91 mm in diameter

The specs are to keep things fair and most important, that the blades on opposing tops are at the same point of contact. Questions?? Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/wZCkNSTUDW

All parts can be printed in PLA, but PETG will be more durable. Ripcord should be printed in tough PLA or PETG. We printed the final version of the ripcord in ABS and it's working pretty great!

On my tops: EVERYTHING IS LEFT HAND THREADS (SCREWS TOGETHER OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF TOP ROTATION)

These tops are featured in my faux science filament testing video, check it out!
