That’s a great tip for users—Creality Print’s "Auto Orientation" can be a lifesaver for complex geometries. I’ve updated the description to reflect your exact workflow, making it much easier for someone else to replicate your success.

RedCat 51 Dual-Accessory Mounting Bracket

This is a low-profile mounting solution designed for the William Optics RedCat 51. It allows you to maximize the limited space atop the telescope by mounting two separate hardware controllers or power boxes simultaneously.

The bracket is designed to sit securely underneath the original RedCat handle. By sandwiching the bracket between the handle and the telescope body, you maintain a rigid, integrated setup without sacrificing the portability of the handle.

Key Features

  • Dual Mounting Points: Designed to mount power distribution boxes (like the Svbony 241) on one side and DIY focusing controllers (such as Arduino-based systems) on the other.

  • Flexible Hardware Options: The mounting holes are versatile. You can use them as bolt-through holes to screw directly into your accessories, or install M4 heat-set inserts for a clean, threaded finish.

Required Hardware

To install this bracket, you will need to replace the factory handle screws with slightly longer ones:

  • (2) M4 x 12mm Socket Head Cap Screws

Print Settings & Orientation

To ensure this bracket is strong enough to support your gear during long imaging sessions, follow these guidelines:

  • Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS is highly recommended. These materials handle outdoor conditions (UV, temperature swings, and dew) much better than PLA.

  • Walls/Infill: Use 3–4 perimeters (walls) and 25%+ infill for maximum rigidity.

  • Slicer Instructions: * Orientation: If using Creality Print (or other Orca-based slicers), use the "Auto Orientation" tool and select "Minimize Print Time." This positions the part at an angle that balances structural integrity with print efficiency.

    • Supports: Once oriented, simply turn on Automatic Supports. This orientation provides the best balance of minimal support volume and maximum strength at critical stress points.

Installation

Remove the original RedCat 51 handle, place the bracket over the mounting holes on the telescope ring, and secure the handle back on top using the new M4 x 12mm screws.
