Pool Skimmer Vacuum Adapter

Routing your pool's vacuum hose through the skimmer's top opening to attach it to the vacuum plate can be cumbersome.  Wrestling a buoyant, stiff hose into place while keeping it primed with water can be awkward.

This adapter effectively creates a 90 degree bend off of the top of the skimmer vacuum plate to prevent hose kinking and reduce air intrusion when connecting the hose.  This makes it easy to route your pool's vacuum hose through the waterline opening to connect it to the skimmer vacuum plate. 

The spiral design means that the horizontal-end of the adapter is lower in height than a standard L-shaped elbow.  The lower height keeps the opening under the surface of the water when you pool level is lower than normal.  This allows for an easy connection even if our pool's water level isn't near the top of the skimmer's waterline opening.

The integrated base means you can print it without supports.  Print in PETG with a 0.2mm layer height, gyroid infill, and 4 walls for added structural rigidity.

This 3D-printed solution transforms a difficult "blind maneuver" into a straightforward, reliable connection. Ensure your pump maintains a perfect prime and eliminate the underwater wrestle with this low-profile, spiral adapter.

Update 5/23/2026: After feedback that the hose-end of the adapter didn't work with all hoses, I revised the male end to better fit into pool hoses.
