A functional, magnetic purge waste bin for the Creality K2 Plus and CFS multi-color system. It smoothly directs purged filament away from mechanics while ensuring the rear exhaust ventilators remain completely unobstructed for optimal thermal management.
Hardware Requirements
Magnets: 6x Round Magnets (4.1 mm diameter x 3 mm height).
Note: 4.1 mm is an unusual tolerance. Measure your magnets with calipers before pressing them in to avoid splitting the printed walls.
Print Settings
Primary Material: PLA
Support Interface Material: PETG
Layer Height: 0.2 mm
Wall Loops / Perimeters: 3 (Crucial for structural integrity around magnet holes)
Infill: 15% Gyroid
Update: support is needed only inside the tube if your printer does not have the capability to print overhangs.
Expert Note on Supports: Using PETG as a support interface for PLA allows you to set the top Z-distance to 0 mm. Because PLA and PETG do not bond, the PETG supports snap off cleanly, leaving a perfect overhang finish. Verify your flush volumes in the slicer are strictly calibrated when swapping between PLA and PETG to prevent cross-contamination and layer delamination in the main body.
