Done this for customer which wanted to cover 360 degree event with wifi from one spot.

We decided to use Aruba 535 AP with AP-MNT-E original mount which is screwed on it and put on standard speaker stand (35 mm tube). Probably any Aruba 500 and newer WiFi AP would work here.

You need to print four AP-Plates and one central part.

Bill of materials for mounting AP-Plate to central part

  • 8x M5x25 screw with countersunk head

Bill of materials for mounting AP-MNT-E onto AP-Plate model (4 pcs for every ap mout)

  • 16x M5x12 screw with pan head

  • 16x M5 nut

  • 16x M5 washer

Printing

  • Central part upside down

  • Ap plates with countesunk holes down to print bed

  • Easily printable on Prusa i3 MK3s

Assembly procedure:

  1. Force push 4 nuts into every round hole in the AP-Mount plate, be aware not all nuts are made equal. I've found that some might be loosey and some very tight be aware of that. I modeled holes with nuts I got from local hardware store

  2. Screw every AP-Plate onto central part with two M5x25 screws with countersunk head, directly into plastics

  3. Mount every AP-MNT-E metal plate with four M5x12 and washers into AP-Plates already assembled holder. With arrows on the AP-MNT-E pointing UP.

  4. Put the assembled holder onto speaker stand

  5. Slide APs into metal plates

  6. Connect APs to PoE switch

  7. Done

Made for Arion company in Czech Republic.

Models could be certainly improved:

  • AP-Plates and central parts could be printed as one piece if you have printer with large enough volume.

  • There is also room for improvement for nuts holes etc... Feel free to experiment with it.
