This is a sleek, three-piece rotatable kickstand designed for maximum flexibility. Unlike static stands, this model features a central hub that allows the support arm to rotate, giving you the ability to switch between portrait and landscape orientations effortlessly.

The design is optimized for a low profile when folded, making it a perfect addition to the back of a phone case without adding significant bulk.

Key Features

  • 360° Rotation: Adjust the angle and orientation to suit your viewing needs—ideal for video calls, watching movies, or following recipes.

  • Three-Part Assembly: Consists of a Ring (base), a Hub (connector), and an Arm (support).

  • Compact & Portable: Folds flat against the device when not in use.

Print Settings & Tips

  • Material: Both PETG & PLA work well. But PLA may be more brittle over time.

  • Layer Height: 0.2mm

  • Infill: 20% (Grid or Gyroid) to ensure the arm provides enough structural support for heavier phones.

  • Orientation: Print the Ring and Arm flat on the bed. No support should be required.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Insert the Hub into the center of the Ring.

  2. Fix the Arm onto the Ring's pivot point using a filament.

  3. Affix to your phone case with a thin strip of double-sided adhesive (such as 3M VHB).

Customization & Parametric Design

I have included the Fusion source file to allow for easy adjustments. If you have specific hardware or tape on hand, you can modify the following parameters to perfect the fit:

  • Pin Diameter: Adjust this if you prefer using something other than a piece of filament for the hinge. For example, you can set this to match the diameter of a straightened paperclip or a small metal rod.

  • Pin Diameter Offset: Use this to fine-tune the tolerance. Increase the offset if the hinge pin is too tight to insert, or decrease it for a firmer, more premium feel.

  • Tape Thickness: Change this value to match the specific double-sided tape you are using (e.g., 3M VHB). This ensures the hub flushes against the ring.

  • Arm Flip Angle: By default, the arm opens to 110°. Change it from 90° to 125° to suit your needs.

How to edit:

  1. Open the .f3d file in Autodesk Fusion.

  2. Go to Modify > Change Parameters.

  3. Update the values in the Favourites section, and the model will update automatically.
