A custom set of interlocking exterior panels for the BeamCase 7-slot Slim ATX case.
This is a panel set only — it is intended to be used with the existing BeamCase 7-slot Slim ATX frame. The panels are included in a single file, you must use the "split to objects" feature in your slicer to get the individual parts.
Important tolerance note
These parts use very tight tolerances.
Your printer and filament need to be well calibrated, otherwise the panels may not slot together properly. Before printing the full set, I strongly recommend checking your dimensional accuracy and tuning your slicer settings for the specific filament you are using. Slice one of the panels and print a small test piece before omitting to the full set.
In particular, pay attention to:
Filament flow / extrusion multiplier
First layer squish
XY dimensional accuracy
Shrinkage compensation / shrink %
Elephant’s foot compensation
I found that tuning the shrinkage was especially important to get the panels dimensionally accurate. If the parts come out even slightly oversized, the interlocking edges may be too tight to assemble cleanly.
Print orientation
I recommend printing the panels face down on the build plate. This gives the best external finish on the visible face and keeps the vent pattern looking clean.
Suggested print settings
These are the settings I used:
Orientation: face down on the bed
Walls/perimeters: 6
Top layers: 6
Bottom layers: 6
Infill: gyroid
Material: PETG
You can adjust the infill percentage to suit your preference, but the panels get most of their strength from the walls and the panel geometry rather than dense infill, gyroid just typically just gives me better surface finishes.
Assembly
The mounting holes line up with the original beamcase panel mounting holes. The side panels have a central hole that will line up with the mounting hole on the central motherboard bracket, and the side panel support brackets if you use them.
Compatibility
Designed for the BeamCase 7-slot Slim ATX case only.
They're pretty tricky to model so I don't plan to make them in any other sizes. I have included STEP files so feel free to remix them.
