NOTICE: This is a work in progress - there might be issues with finding screws that fit it - as mine were scavenged.
It can still be used to re-house a stereo BT speaker you already have, and if needed be, glued together.
My speaker was Pulsar EE5382
This is a custom 3D-printable shell designed to re-house a small stereo Bluetooth speaker into a fun, kid-friendly boombox form.
The goal of this design was to take a standard off-the-shelf speaker and give it a more playful, durable, and visually engaging look — something that feels like a toy, but still sounds great.
Features
Boombox-inspired design with integrated carry handle
Dual speaker grills for stereo output
Large front button area (perfect for power or main control)
Top-mounted control buttons for easy access
Chunky, rounded shapes — safe and comfortable for kids
Modular construction for easier printing and assembly
5 Buttons (my speaker had 5 buttons originally)
Compatibility
Designed to fit a generic small stereo Bluetooth speaker module or scavenged stereo speaker.
You may need to:
Slightly adjust internal clearances depending on your speaker model
Use foam, hot glue, or small brackets to secure the internals
Extend or reposition buttons if your layout differs
Printing Notes
Supports required - use tree supports for easy cleanup.
Recommended layer height: 0.2 mm
Use PETG - gives best fitment.
Multi-color print or swap filaments for best visual effect
Speaker grills can be printed separately for clean contrast
Customization Ideas
Change colors to match your kid’s favorite theme
Add decals or stickers
Scale slightly to fit different speaker sizes
Remix the front panel for different button layouts
Notes
This is a shell only
Not waterproof — avoid exposure to moisture
Adult supervision recommended for assembly
Why I Made This
Most Bluetooth speakers are either too plain or too fragile-looking for kids. This design makes them feel more like a toy while keeping the original functionality — plus it’s just more fun to carry around.
It was based on my toy speaker that made annoying sounds.
