Anticipating a higher volume of filament waste after I receive the Canvas (multi-color) add-on for my Centauri Carbon, I needed a different poop collection solution than the moderately sized drawer type collector I'm now using. Also, with the Canvas, access to the printer's right side is limited due to the 4 side mounted spools.
The segmented pipe chute looked like it would fit the bill - flexible routing to a collection bucket wherever it's needed.
This model uses 4 8x3 magnets glued in the recesses on the mounting face. There are ribs on the printer side of the face to keep the chute from moving around due to printer shake, rattle and roll. The chute's mounting face also has clearance holes to fit around the 2 screws on the CC's back panel where a bucket is normally attached.
I have my chute running to a large custom poop bucket hanging off the back of the printer table.
Version 2.0:
The chute is now angled backward by 15 deg. to provide a poop flow into a rear mounted collector.
Printing notes:
Filament: PETG, PLA should work (that's what I used for the blue pipe segments)
Layer height: .2mm
Walls: 4 - This limits infill to a small area in the transition between the mounting face and the chute
Infill: 15% (for a small areas)
Support: Use painted on tree supports only under the bottom edge of the mounting face and (optionally) the upper inside edge of all the holes.
Printer and filament bridging settings need to be dialed in really well for the upper inside slope of the chute to print satisfactorily. I probably could have done better on mine as can be seen in the inside view of the chute - it's a bit rough, but there are no loose stringies.
