An Eco-Friendly, Reusable Pest Solution

Tired of annoying fruit flies, gnats, or wasps buzzing around your kitchen or terrace? This Glass-Top Insect Trap is a simple, non-toxic utility print designed to fit perfectly over standard drinking glasses or jars. Just add your favorite natural bait (like apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish soap) and let the trap do the rest!

How It Works

The model features a funnel-shaped entry system. Insects are drawn inside by the scent of the bait, flying through the wide top opening down into the small funnel exit. Once inside the glass, their natural flight instincts make it incredibly difficult for them to find the tiny opening to escape.

Key Features

  • Universal Placement: Designed to sit snugly on top of common kitchen glasses or mason jars.

  • 100% Non-Toxic: Works purely on mechanical geometry—no harsh chemicals or sticky papers needed.

  • Easy to Clean: Simply lift it off, rinse the glass and the print, and it’s ready to be reused indefinitely.

  • Sleek & Low-Profile: Looks clean on a kitchen counter or outdoor dining table.

Recommended Print Settings

Because this print will be exposed to liquids and potentially left outdoors, these settings are recommended:

  • Material: PLA works perfectly fine for strictly indoor kitchen use. / PETG

  • Layer Height: 0.2mm is standard, but 0.15mm will make the funnel interior smoother, making it even harder for insects to get a foothold to climb out.

  • Infill: 10%–20%

  • Supports: Add Supports

Bait Recipe Ideas

  • Fruit Flies & Gnats: Apple cider vinegar, a splash of red wine, or a piece of overripe banana. Crucial Tip: Add a single drop of liquid dish soap to break the surface tension so the flies sink.

  • Wasps & Hornets: Sugary water, fruit juice, or beer.
