I have hydroponic table and basin. On the top, I made circular (8cm) and rectangular (8x8cm) holes for pots. Even I have bigger pots 10+12mm. This is usual size of meshed pots, that are normally used for planting. When the plant is done, there is free space and is recommended to cover this hole against sunshine (and algae).
