OVERVIEW
MagDockPlate is a collection of modular mounting plates designed to adapt magazine pouches, holsters, speedloader carriers, and other belt-mounted accessories to full-size Tek-Lok compatible attachments.
Rather than creating a dedicated mounting solution for every project, these plates provide a standardized interface with multiple hole patterns, stand-off heights, integrated cant angles, and KlockLok 360 compatibility. The goal is to reuse the same hardware and mounting geometry across multiple projects while minimizing custom design work.

MECHANICAL COMPATIBILITY
Item | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Full-Size Tek-Lok | Supported | Standard mounting interface |
Magazine Pouches | Supported | Multiple mounting patterns included |
Holsters | Supported | Compatible with standard 8-32 holster hardware |
Speedloader Carriers | Supported | Dedicated mounting plate variants available |
KlockLok 360 | Supported | Recessed variants available for direct integration |
⸻
DESIGN GOALS
Goal | Engineering Rationale |
|---|---|
Standardized mounting | Provide a common mounting interface across multiple projects. |
Modular ecosystem | Allow new holsters and pouches to reuse existing mounting hardware. |
Integrated cant options | Eliminate the need for custom wedges by building common cant angles directly into the plate. |
Adjustable stand-off | Multiple plate designs allow accessories to sit closer to or farther from the body as required. |
Improved stability | Hat variants use a leg bumper to reduce sag on heavier accessories. |
These plates are intended as reusable building blocks rather than finished products. They can be incorporated into new projects without redesigning the entire belt attachment interface.

PART TYPES / COMPONENTS
Part | Function |
|---|---|
Standard Plates | General-purpose mounting interface for holsters, magazine pouches, and accessories. |
Spacer Plate | Adds stand-off where additional clearance is required. |
Speedloader Plates | Hole patterns optimized for revolver speedloader carriers. |
Recessed Plates | Accept KlockLok 360 interface components while maintaining a compact profile. |
Hat Variants | Incorporate a leg bumper that braces against the shooter’s leg, pushing the carrier outward to reduce sag and inward rotation. |
No Hat Variants | Lower-profile versions without the leg bumper interface. |
Angle Variants | Integrate fixed cant angles directly into the mounting plate. |

ASSEMBLY
Select the mounting plate that matches your accessory, desired cant angle, and mounting pattern.
Install the plate using standard 8-32 holster screws and rubber holster bumpers.
If additional spacing is required, install the optional spacer plate.
If using a hat variant, adjust the rubber bumper so it makes light contact with your leg while wearing your competition belt.
Tighten all hardware after the final position has been established.
The integrated leg bumper found on the hat variants creates a secondary support point between the carrier and the shooter’s leg. This reduces the cantilever load on the Tek-Lok attachment and helps prevent heavier magazine pouches or holsters from sagging inward during movement.

TESTING / VALIDATION
I developed these mounting plates across a variety of magazine pouches, holsters, and speedloader carriers to eliminate the need for custom backplates on each project. The various hole patterns, offsets, and integrated cant angles allow the same accessory to be configured for different competition setups without modifying the original design.
The recessed variants have also been validated for use with the KlockLok 360 system, allowing compatible accessories to share the same adjustable cant interface.
The hat variants were developed to address a common issue with heavier belt-mounted equipment. By allowing a rubber bumper to contact the shooter’s leg, the plate gains a second support point that helps keep the accessory upright and reduces inward sag during movement.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
Additional mounting patterns, hole layouts, and KlockLok 360 interface plates will be added as new projects are developed. The long-term goal is to maintain a standardized mounting ecosystem so future holsters, magazine pouches, and accessories can share common hardware and attachment geometry without requiring project-specific mounting solutions.
