A ridiculously overpowered 3D printed handheld fan powered by FPV drone parts.

This build uses a 2207 brushless motor, a 5-inch propeller, a 30A ESC and a 3S LiPo battery. The body is designed to hold the electronics neatly inside, while the large protective cage keeps fingers away from the propeller.

It is definitely not your average USB desk fan — this thing moves a serious amount of air and looks much cooler.

Please use common sense (you will be warned): install a strong guard, check all screws regularly, and never run it without protection.

BOM:

Parts I used:

2207 Brushless Motor (~2000kv)

T-Motor V2207 V2 1950KV

30A ESC

HOBBYWING Skywalker V2 30A 3-4s

3S LiPo (106 × 34 × 21 mm (L × W × H))

Gens ace 3S Lipo 2200mAh

cheap Servo Tester (you need to remove the housing)

5-inch Propeller (~3 mm pitch)

Gemfan YUKI 5129-3

M3 Heat-Set Inserts (4x)

M3x12 Countersunk Screws (4x)

M3x25 Countersunk Screws (4x)

4x2mm Round Magnets (4x)

optional: extra Battery Connector (when your ESC doesn't include one)

thin wires (~26 AWG)

Please make sure you have a suitable charger for the battery and check whether all components have the same connector (especially the LiPo and the ESC).

Recommended materials for Printing:
PETG/PLA/ASA for everything, except for the "Base_Plate" (needs to be more rigid and withstand heat from the motor, an -CF Filament is recommended (minimum ASA-CF))
