This highly-engineered, premium spool mounting system was designed exclusively and specifically for the Snapmaker U1 equipped with a Biqu PopCap. It uses print-in-place conical roller bearings to perfectly center and suspend your spools, providing a firm, stable hold and an easy spin that eliminates extruder drag.
✨ Key Features
Smooth Conical Bearings: The spools ride on 60mm conical hubs that automatically self-center any filament spool (from standard Bambu/Polymaker sizes up to wide-bore spools). Built-in print-in-place dumbbell roller bearings make them spin incredibly easily.
Premium Sweeping Design: No blocky, basic geometry here. The brackets feature a gorgeous, mathematically perfect sweeping crescent arch with rounded fillets that look like high-end injection molding.
No Hardware Required: The entire assembly is 100% 3D printed. No metal skate bearings or screws needed!
Center Bracket to support 2 spools.
Mini bearings added so that you can use small spools with an inner diameter of 39 - 46 mm.
🖨 Printing Instructions
I have provided a fully prepared .3mf print profile with all the parts perfectly oriented on the bed. No supports are needed!
Infill: 15-20% Gyroid is plenty strong for the brackets.
Material: PETG, ABS, or PLA+ (If your enclosure gets hot, avoid standard PLA for the brackets).
🔧 Assembly
The Brackets: Simply slide the hook slots horizontally onto the top and bottom lip of your PopCap enclosure door.
The Bearings: Slide the printed conical bearings onto the 14.6mm bracket axles. (Pro Tip: Use a small dab of superglue between the axle and the inner hole of the bearing to hold it permanently in place. This makes it way easier to push the cones against the spool without them slipping off!)

The incredibly smooth internal roller geometry of the conical bearings is powered by the brilliant parametric Print-in-Place Bearing Generator by Koolm. Be sure to check out their original tool!
