This is a removable cone shield for the Laserpecker LP1. The cone shield is attached with magnets to the included cover that goes on top of the laser unit.
As long as the user is OK with not witnessing the entire process, this is a good alternative to the included glasses that come with the device. To make this item, PLA is a fine choice of material since the low power (0.7W) diode laser reflecting from the engraving surface can't do any damage. Additionally, there's a gap in the back to peek thru with the glasses, or add filtration if one prefers.
The height of the cone is also the focal distance of the laser (200mm).
Required materials and assembly:
Double sided tape: The cover sits in place with double sided tape on top of the laser unit. There's a recessed area for the addition of double sided tape.
8 units of 6x3mm or 5x3mm disk magnets. Both files are included.
** The unit already comes with protective goggles and it's recommended to use them any time the laser is on. Use this shield and the goggles and the same time. Or use the shield at your own risk.
