This simple model helps your sticks if they have lost their rubberized coating or can give you a larger surface area if you have larger thumbs. The 18mm model fits snuggly over a stick that has lost it rubberized coating. If you have larger thumbs and still have your rubberized coating, the 20mm model will slip over well.
I tested variations with texture and using a textured built plate, but found them very uncomfortable. These smooth versions work great, and the lack of a dip in the middle of the stick adds a nice additional tactile element to clicking the left and right joystick click buttons. That was a happy accident.
