Parametric Compressor Wheel (Fusion 360)
(Do you need an STL file in your specific dimensions? Leave a comment and I'll add it!)
A fully parametric compressor wheel built in Fusion 360. Instead of a fixed-size STL, this file is meant to be opened, adjusted, and made your own , the core dimensions are exposed as editable parameters, so you can match the wheel to your own specification without breaking the model.
All key dimensions are protected with safe min/max limits, enter any value and the model will automatically clamp to the nearest valid size instead of breaking.
Why parametric instead of a ready-made STL?
Every compressor is a little different, bore size, axle length, wheel diameter, number of spokes. Rather than guessing at "one size fits most," this file lets you punch in your own numbers and get a model that's guaranteed to update cleanly, no matter what values you enter.
Files included
STEP - universal CAD format, opens in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, FreeCAD, and most other CAD software
F3D - native Fusion 360 archive, includes the full parametric timeline and all parameters described below
(No STL is included on purpose - this model is built for remixing, not for printing as-is.)
How to edit the parameters
Open the file in Fusion 360
Go to Modify → Change Parameters
Look at the Favorites section at the top - these are the only values you need to touch
Change a value, hit Enter, and the whole model updates automatically
You do not need to touch anything outside the Favorites list. Everything else updates automatically behind the scenes.
Adjustable parameters (Favorites)
Parameter | What it controls | Safe range |
|---|---|---|
| Overall outer diameter of the wheel | min 110 mm |
| Center hole diameter for the axle | 6–13 mm |
| Chamfer on the outer edge of the wheel | — |
| Number of spokes | 3–9 |
| Total width of the wheel, including the boss/support faces on each side | min 8 mm |
| How far the axle boss extends (1 mm = flush with the support faces) | min 1 mm |
Every value above (except the outer chamfer, for now) is clamped internally - if you enter something out of range, the model automatically falls back to the nearest safe value instead of breaking.
Everything else in the parameter list (prefixed DoNotEdit_) is internal - these are calculated automatically from the values above and don't need to be touched.
