I wanted to switch from rollers to rails on my Ender 3 v2 and use StealthBurner, as I had a spare SB2040 and full head from my other build.

The carriage is a modified version of Switchwire carriage, but moved 7mm to the front, as it was crashing into the Z-mount.

I was super happy with KlackEnder before, but also wanted a more stable solution for the docking mechanism and wanted to use it instead.

BOM

  • M3 nut - 6x

  • M3 threaded insert - 8x

  • M3x40 - 3x

  • M3x8 - 4x

  • M3x20 - 4x

  • M3x10 - 2x

  • PCB Klicky set (inserts, magnets, bolts)

  • M5x8 - x2 (for retainer better use slim bolts, see the screenshot, other may fit too)

  • M5 t-nuts - x2

  • new GT2 belt, the old one is too short

  • (optional) M5 t-nuts - x4 — if you don't want to loose space on Y, you need to move Y-profile to the front

Building Instructions

Print everything first. Then attach the rail to the aluminum profile. Place the carriage on the rail and mount it to the rail carriage. Then place new belt and attach clips to pre-tension the belt. Then you can undo the carriage and cut belt to length.

After that thread wires to the probe and then connect the carriage to the rail. Then you can mount ab-holder, but don't fully tension it.

Then you can put on the dock. Undo the bolt on the z-carriage, attach the dock holder and then place the bolt back. Then you can attach the dock.

Attach your toolhead and adjust the probe holder, so it would be higher without the probe and lower with the probe. Fix it to the carriage. Then move carriage to the rightmost position and adjust the dock position accordingly.

Finally you can adjust the retainer with about 1mm offset of the placed probe to the dock.

Firmware Instructions

Should be similar to the KlackEnder isntructions

You can use my config as reference (your x values may differ, you HAVE to adjust them)
