This is a model I created to display my most prized Hot Wheels and Matchbox possessions properly. As you can see in the photos, it can also hold similar scale cars like the mini Lego F1 cars. It uses a nesting chevron shape with each of the tiers sliding into one another and held together by the TPU feet on the bottom which keeps everything from sliding apart. The front lip of the parking spaces is only 2mm high for better visibility. The groves on the parking spaces, created due to the slope and how the printer works, hold the cars in place. Since I had extra space in the middle of the parking spaces I decided to make little podiums to house smaller cars like the Mattel mini racers. P.S. I recommend printing the first tier first to see how you like it and test the fit without wasting too much filament.
Comment any suggestions you may have to make this model better. I would love to take this model further.
Print settings I used:
15% Gyroid infill (The only setting I changed for the TPU feet.)
5 Wall loops
No brim
Post Printing: Press in the TPU feet, rounded side first, into the holes on the bottom of each tier. No glue is needed since they are press fit.
Behind the design:
I initially designed this model in one piece but it wouldn't fit on my printer so I had to split it up. I thought about using some connections between the parts but decided against it. Since it is bigger model, it may lead to reliability problems. Adding some connectors would also introduce tolerances some printers won't be able to print. Being modular, it didn't make sense to bind it together. I was thinking about making the front lip on the parking spaces higher but decided it was enough since I wanted to keep better visibility. Even if the wheels of some cars occasionally slip and their bumpers go over the lip, the front wheels of the cars physically can't let them fall.
