This was so fun to design and build! The septafoil (7₁) knot-inspired marble track just wants to exist. The same curves that make a good rolling path also happen to print clean.
The 8mm prints in place with no supports at all. I suggest using outer brim ON for the BB version. I used 0.28mm layer height and some old silk PLA, and it came out great in under 4 hours. Dimensions: 94mm diameter × 28mm tall. Tolerances are forgiving.
Bearings: uses standard 8mm bearings. Drop a couple into each of the 7 channels you'll see at layer 70. If you're on a bed-slinger, take @BaazAl_4398709's advice and only load the channels running perpendicular to your slide direction; the ones running with it will fling the bearings out.
UPDATE: bearings can be SNAPPED in after printing. They pop in and don't come out!
The bearings roll super smoothly and click against each other as they pass. Watching them weave past each other is neat!
Scale it up or down for different bearing sizes.
