Gridfinity Microphone Holders for Sennheiser e935

These Gridfinity-compatible microphone holders were designed for organizing Sennheiser e935 handheld microphones in a studio, broadcast or production environment.

The project was originally created for the microphones used at the SAG control room, where the microphones had previously been stored in deteriorated foam. The new system provides a cleaner, modular and easier-to-maintain storage solution.

Three holder sizes are included:

• 2 microphones — 3×5 Gridfinity units

• 3 microphones — 4×5 Gridfinity units

• 4 microphones — 5×5 Gridfinity units

Each microphone is stored horizontally in a shaped pocket. The microphones are arranged in alternating directions to use the available Gridfinity space more efficiently.

An optional Contrast Pocket Insert is also included. Print this part in a contrasting color and duplicate it in the slicer as many times as required. The inserts make empty microphone positions immediately visible and add a cleaner visual finish.

Compatibility

The holders were physically tested with:

• Sennheiser e935

They may fit microphones with a very similar body and grille profile, but compatibility with other models is not guaranteed.

The following microphones were tested or compared and do not fit correctly:

• Shure SM58

• Shure Beta 87

• AKG D5

The AKG D5 grille is wider, while the Shure models use different body and capsule profiles.

Before printing a complete set, compare the dimensions of your microphone with a Sennheiser e935 or print a single test holder.

Printing recommendations

These holders were successfully printed on a Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

Recommended starting settings:

• Layer height: 0.20–0.24 mm

• Wall loops: 2

• Top layers: 3–4

• Bottom layers: 3

• Infill: 5–8%

• Infill pattern: Grid

• Supports: No

• Raft: No

• Brim: Recommended for the larger versions

• Brim width: 5 mm

• Brim-object gap: 0.20 mm

PLA, PLA+ or PETG may be used. PLA/PLA+ is sufficient for normal drawer storage. PETG may be preferable for warmer environments or more demanding use.

The optional pocket inserts can be printed separately in a contrasting color and placed into the bottom of each microphone pocket.

Design process

AI-assisted tracing was used only to capture the microphone outlines. The final layouts, dimensions, tolerances, Gridfinity configuration, print preparation and physical testing were completed manually.

The models were created and validated specifically around real Sennheiser e935 microphones.

This model stores and organizes the microphones; it is not intended to protect them against severe impact, transport damage or moisture.

Estos contenedores compatibles con Gridfinity fueron diseñados para organizar micrófonos de mano Sennheiser e935 en estudios, cabinas de control, salas de producción o espacios de grabación.

El proyecto se creó originalmente para organizar los micrófonos utilizados en el SAG, que anteriormente se almacenaban en una espuma deteriorada.

Se incluyen tres tamaños:

Los micrófonos están dispuestos en orientaciones alternadas para aprovechar mejor el espacio.

También se incluye una pieza opcional denominada Contrast Pocket Insert, que puede imprimirse en un color diferente y duplicarse en el laminador. Esta pieza permite identificar rápidamente los espacios vacíos y mejora el acabado visual.
