When trying to sand layer lines and polish 3D prints, I ran into a common frustration: most small sanders designed for rotary tools like a Dremel spin far too fast — typically 5,000–15,000 RPM. They also have almost no usable torque under pressure and will slow down significantly or stall entirely when you make contact with the print.
As an alternative, I designed this adapter for a standard electric spin scrubber. These tools typically run at 300–900 RPM, are sealed for wet use, and have substantially more torque — making them a much better fit for sanding and polishing filament prints.
After looking at several spin scrubber models, I noticed many share a similar connector style, so I built a universal adapter for 2-inch sanding discs. I added self-adhesive hook fabric (Velcro) to the back face of the adapter, which lets you attach the foam interface pad included in most sanding kits, followed by your sandpaper of choice. The result is a capable wet sanding and polishing setup that works great on PLA and PETG.
The example photos show the polish results on the bottom half of a Pokéball print.
