I have several metal chairs and a table in my garden, which are placed on a very stony surface. The problem was that when someone sat on a chair, its legs could sink into the ground, while the stones could cause nasty scratches and damage to the metal legs.
To prevent the chairs from sinking into the ground and to protect the legs from scratches, I created these fully parametric protective caps.
Every aspect of the cap can be customized. You can start with the fundamental choice of whether you want a cone-shaped base or simply a flat plate. All other dimensions, such as height, diameter, wall thickness, and sleeve dimensions, can be adjusted as well.
This makes it easy to adapt the caps to different types and sizes of chair or table legs.
Print instructions:
Make sure to print the model in upright position (cone / plate on the print bed)
Add supports & brim when choosing a cone cap (Prusa Slicer: paint on supports (L), use "Smart fill" and select the cone). The brim is essential!!
