# The Tiny Tyrant's Keyboard Tether
A small clip-and-elastic solution for keeping a full-size keyboard attached to a very junior executive's chair instead of repeatedly introducing it to the floor.
## Design concept
This started as a practical fix for a keyboard that would not stay within reach on a child's seat. The printed clips anchor elastic beneath the keyboard and hook around the chair so the keyboard stays in the useful zone.
## What it does
The design provides a compact attachment point for 3/4-inch elastic. A pair of clips uses existing keyboard screws, while the opposite ends hook beneath the chair. The result is a removable tether rather than a permanent keyboard modification.
## Design notes
The Tinkercad source was created March 31, 2026 and last edited April 27, 2026. The visible design has a rounded outer edge, a narrow elastic channel, and a screw-mounting feature. Exact dimensions and fit tolerances still require measurement before publication.
## Printing recommendations
- Orientation: Print on its side so the rounded contact edge stays smooth.
- Layer height: 0.2 mm (supported by the existing Creality Cloud print profiles).
- Walls/perimeters: 2 walls (supported by the existing Creality Cloud print profiles).
- Infill: 15% (supported by the existing Creality Cloud print profiles).
- Supports: Review needed; the current public description does not document support use.
- Material: Review needed; no reliable material claim was found.
It is a small part doing a surprisingly specific job, which is how half the useful things in a workshop begin.
## Assembly and use
1. Locate suitable screws on the underside of the keyboard and verify that the supplied screw length remains safe with the clip installed.
2. Thread 3/4-inch elastic through two printed clips and fasten the clips beneath the keyboard.
3. Hook the opposite ends beneath the chair, then adjust the elastic for a secure fit without excessive tension.
## Notes and limitations
This is not a restraint or safety device. Keep elastic, printed parts, and mounting hardware away from the child's neck and inspect them for damage or loosening before use. Keyboard screw layouts and chair geometry vary, so verify fit before relying on the tether. Adult supervision is required.
