Introducing the Potato Mini!
It's a NeoGeo/supergun compatible joystick. It is a small form factor to preserve space on my desk.
It is designed to be compatible with Sanwa 24mm/30mm OBSF buttons and the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT joystick.
The buttons on the lid are 30mm and the start/select buttons on the back are 24mm. You can use any hardware you like, but I chose to use the Sanwa stuff and internally am using a screw terminal PCB that is designed for Neo Geo joystick inputs.
I'm having trouble posting OshPark links in here without getting a spam warning so I will say just search for “NEOGEO Joystick Board” on OshPark and look at the designs by “Zarradeth”.
The Direct Controller Input Mod article on RetroRGB was also a good source of information.
When printing I had to use a 0.2mm layer height to keep the thinner parts at the very top of the lower model from de-laminating.
Also the lower was designed to use M3 heat set inserts to secure the lid in place.
The model is designed parametrically, so if people want I can easily expand the size of the model to accommodate more buttons or larger layouts. I can also make different lids if people want to accommodate different sticks/buttons.
AUTOFIRE
I found a simple Arduino based autofire sketch and made some minor edits to support a on/off switch. I installed the switch by drilling a hole in the side and placing a toggle in it.
It is super dumb and support up to four buttons. In my case I only wired it to the A button as that is probably 99% of the scenarios for me, but you could wire them all if desired.

I used an Arduino Pro Micro(Leonardo) however I can't imagine it wouldn't work on just about any Arduino compatible with enough pins. Just adjust the pins set in the sketch if yours are different,
