A six-in-one tactile teaching aid that lets blind and low-vision students explore optics by touch. The model demonstrates plane mirror imaging, convergence through a convex lens, divergence through a concave lens, real vs. virtual image formation (upright or inverted), and the rule that a ray through the optical center never changes direction.

Each light-ray rod has a raised arrow showing the direction of light and comes in two textures: smooth rods represent real light rays, while ribbed rods represent virtual-image extension lines. Lenses (convex, concave) and the plane mirror are shaped differently (almond, apple-core, rectangle) for easy identification by touch. Optical elements attach to the base with small magnets for easy reassembly.

The "object" is represented by a candle, made from 3D-printed candle slices, so students can feel whether the image is upright or inverted. Virtual images keep the candle's outline but are hollow inside, so students can tell them apart from real images by touch alone.

Designed and made after volunteering to teach physics to blind students and finding that optics, being so visually dependent, was one of the hardest topics to convey. Hope this helps more educators bring optics to life for their blind and low-vision students.
