I needed a frame cage to keep a queen bee out of a particular frame so that it could be removed, without the queen having laid it up and the workers subsequently wasting energy tending to the larvae, and so the frame cage was created.
It has 4.2mm holes to allow workers in or out, but will prevent the queen from doing the same.
This should not be confused with a queen introduction cage, where a frame of brood and no bees is inserted with the queen, to allow the emerging brood to accept the new queen before they are all released some time later.
It can be printed in PLA or PETG or just about anything else, but you need to be able to cleanly remove the support from the two quadrants that require it. The cage can then be superglued together easily enough.
The included 3mf is from Bambu Slicer and has PLA selected as the main material with PETG as the interface material. It is only needed on 2 layers, so the print order is just PLA>PETG>PLA.
